Przemysław Kazienko, Ph.D., D.Sc. - Homepage
I am working as a professor in
The Department of Information System being a part of The Institute of Informatics, Wroclaw University of Technology.
Research areas
- Social networks (SNs) and social network analysis (SNA).
We have established Social Network Group - a research group that consists of several full time researchers, as well as some Ph.D. and M.Sc. students. Its web site is available here. The group is closely related with the Student Research Group "DaniE" - Data and Exploration.
The main, recent research areas in the domain of SN include:
- Analysis of multi-layered social networks; measures in multi-layered SNs; clustering and prediction of groups, etc.
- Extraction of multi-layered social networks from data about common activities and mutual communication of users
- Classification in social networks, collective classification
- Social networks in evaluation of organizational structures, graph comparison
- Latent knowledge acquisition based on social relationships
- Application of social network analysis in marketing
- Social networks on the Internet and telecommunication
- Social networks in analysis of criminal networks
You are invited to the following scientific events and special issues organized by us:
- CSNA 2012 - International Workshop on Complex Social Network Analysis, co-located with ASONAM 2012, 26-29 August, 2012, Istanbul, Turkey
- SNAA 2012 - The Second Workshop on Social Network Analysis in Applications, co-located with ASONAM 2012, 26-29 August, 2012, Istanbul, Turkey
- A special issue of Journal of Universal Computer Science (JUCS), Vol. 18, Issue 4, 2012 (JCR journal, indexed by SCI, DBLP, Scopus, etc.).
- SNAA 2011 - The First Workshop on Social Network Analysis in Applications, co-located with ASONAM 2011, July 25-27, 2011, Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
You are also invited to our periodic monthly meetings - seminars (every second Tuesday) at WrUT related to social network and complex network analysis.
In this area we co-operate with some companies: British Telecom, Intelligent Systems Research Centre (ISRC), Research & Engineering Center REC and Telnet. In the past also within The European Network of Excellence Nature-inspired Smart Information Systems.
- Multiple model systems and hybrid prediction (classification), multi-label classification, especially for complex structures in output (structured output prediction), e.g. sequences.
Together with Edwin Lughofer and Bogdan Trawiński as well as previously with Oscar Cordón, we organize a series of special sessions and special issues of journals:
- A Special Issue on Hybrid and Ensemble Methods in Machine Learning, Journal of Universal Computer Science (JUCS) (JCR-listed journal), 2013.
